ALL HALLOWS-by Fabiola Morera

All Hallows
Well, all hallows is the name of my school of England I went to when I was 12 years old and I was abroad for a whole year. I think that it was the best experience of my whole life.
On the first day (which was a Sunday) I was so scared about everything because I didn’t have any friends, I didn’t know much English and I had never been so far away from my house for such a long time. The good thing was that all the girls in my dorm came and started talking to me and they showed me the school, the teachers, they introduced me to the rest of the people of the year and everyone was very kind.
My first day of school (Monday) was so horrible, at first I went to the wrong lesson twice because my timetable was wrong and I got so embarrassed because when I had gone into a lesson and didn’t have a place to sit and everyone looked at me because they didn’t know who I was... Luckily that teacher came up to tell me that I wasn’t in the right class, and then I did it again.
The second day was even worse, because the “cool” people thought that it would be funny to make a joke to the new Spanish girl (me) so they played me a joke and I got so embarrassed that I felt really bad and I really wanted to go back to Spain.
Months later, after learning more English, I got my timetable right and I made lots of friends so I was feeling much better but I still was missing home.
In my last term I had made so many friends and I knew lots of English, I had so much fun everyday and I really didn’t want to go back to Spain. When I had to leave All Hallows on the last day of school (price day) I was so upset that I couldn’t stop crying.

As I said at the beginning, this has been the best experience in my whole life. It's an experience that has helped me to learn lots of new things: to not be shy and to enjoy everything much more, I have made so many friends who I’m still in touch with and I will never forget this experience.

RIHANNA-by Elena Muñoz

I´m going to talk about Rihanna. She was born in Barbados on the 20th of February of 1988 but she grew up in Bridgetown. Her complete name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. She started singing, with two friends as a trio, when she was in the school.
She is a singer, actress, model, businesswoman and designer. She has been in films like: Home, Annie, Battleship…and twelve of her singles were best sellers.
She is my favorite singer because she became famous by her own sacrifice and not because of her parents (she isn´t the daughter of famous people).
She is very original, she changes her look a lot.

My mum won a raffle of Nivea and the prize was a cruise and during the cruise Rihanna sang a song. When my mum told me that was going to see Rihanna I was like: please mum talk  to her or something.
I think she is a role model because she achieved a lot of success although she was very young.
She has worked with famous singers and groups like Shakira, Eminem, David Guetta…
My favorite songs are:
·       Disturbia
·       Love the way you lie
·       Only girl(in the world)
·       Rehab
·       Don´t stop the music
·       Rude boy
·       S&M
·       Towards the sun
·       Where have you been
·       Who´s that chick

CHOOSING A CAREER WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG-by Sofia Marcos de Juanes

CHOOSING A CAREER WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG
It is believed by many that choosing a career at a young age is the best option. However, other people think the opposite and that it is fine to wait until you are older before choosing your perfect job. Below, I will analyse this issue in terms of how people choose a career, different careers and the studies people choose.
Some people follow their ambitions and do the career they have always wanted. However, if people decide their career when they are young, they might get stuck in a job they don´t like. Also, others may find it difficult to choose the perfect career for them.
There are so many different careers that it is impossible to understand what each job involves, especially for young people. Many people select their career based on what they enjoy studying rather than how their future job will be. For example someone who is studying medicine might not like aspects of being a doctor.
From my point of view I strongly disagree with choosing a career too young because you can make a big mistake and it could change your whole life.

THE POINT OF EDUCATION IS TO ENABLE YOUNG PEOPLE TO GET A GOOD, WELL PAID JOB-by Marta Ros

ESSAY:
The point of education is to enable young people to get a good, well-paid job.
In my opinion, getting a job, isn’t or shouldn’t be the point of educating young people. The purpose should be everyone having an education, a regular base of knowledge and after that, getting a good job. Everyone being educated is very important, we need it for everything. Nowadays routines, also socializing, being respectful…If everyone got a proper education there would be no problems among citizens.
Of course, some people may be against this, and, in the end, I think education is just to get good results, go to university, study a good degree and then getting a well-paid job.
However that may be successful for some people but at the end they don’t have that much education, because they’ve only been educated for their job. In addition, schools should also spend more hours teaching students more useful subjects, like Maths, English, Science…It’s not that other subjects like physical education or music aren’t useful or educational, pupils should also learn those.
Science is really important and schools have decreased the hours of this subject in the students timetable. The number of people studying science degrees have decreased in the last few years.
People who argue against my opinion probably think we only want education so that in the future we can get money, but it’s more than just that. Everyone deserves to get an education even though, maybe in the future they don’t get a job. Everyone should be able to read, write or add up any quantity, but that’s imposible if they aren’t educated.
In conclusion, I think the point of education isn’t just to enable young people to get a well-paid job. It’s also for everyone to have at least a mínimum level of knowledge, and after that trying for everyone to have a good and, possibly, well-paid job.

SUMMER '16-by Carmen Merello

Summer´16
Im really looking forward to the next  summer . You will ask yourself why am I so excited about it. I will tell you why. This summer is not going to be as always. This summer is going to be packed, I am going to travel to three different places!

First of all, Im going to travel to Argentina . Im so excited because I have never been in America before and everyone tells me its amazing. I will tell you some of the things that I will do. I will see the Iguazu´s waterfalls. They are huge and gorgeous waterfalls that Im sure that will surprise me. I will also go to several beaches so I will get sun tun, it will be boiling there so I must put sun cream on if I dont want to get sun burn. Im sure that it will be an unforgotable trip.

After Argentina, Im going to Ibiza with some friends who have their own boat. We will sleep at the boat but we will stop in land to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will swim in the hot sea and rest at the beach where all your problems go away. They have told me that the food there is delicious so I will have to go to the gym after it if I want to lose weight.

Finally I will go to Asturias which is in the north of Spain. I have my own house there in front of the beach. Obviously the weather is not as hot as in the other two places but it still is nice. I have lots of friends there so I never get bored. What I normally do in Asturias is go to the beach with my family and friends which is very comfortable because as I said before is very close to my house. The beaches are amazing. When I come back from the beach I normally go for a walk at the mountains, or I ride in motorbike. At night I eat out with my friends sometimes and after that we decide to go back home to watch a film with popcorn or to stay out a little more. It always depens on how tired we are.

Samhain
Is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of Winter. Samhain is believed to have Celtic origins. There are bonfires at Midnight and people singing. Everyone dresses like on Halloween.
