WHERE WILL I BE IN 5 YEARS?-by Mario Campos

Where will I be in 5 years?

In 5 years I can see myself studying at university.

I will be a sophomore at college. I will probably be studying in England or United States of America.

I prefer to study in these countries because of the great reputations their universities have gained over the past few years. Also, I am eager to leave Spain  as soon as possible not only because of the corruption but also because when I am older I want to live abroad and these two countries are both doing financially well and both have great schools and jobs for me and my family to go to.

Also, I see myself studying a subject that involves both maths and science so that in my future I can have a wide range of possible jobs to choose from. I would play for my university’s football and basketball team and maybe take them to win the championships and be nominated best player of the season and even being called from Barcelona or San Antonio to join their teams.

In my free time, I would have a job so then later in the summer, I can afford to go visit different places such as Italy, Greece, Germany, Canada, Mexico and lots more.

The Big Short

'The Big Short' is a great movie that explains how small groups of people were able to see what economists, banks and even the goverment couldn´t : the apocalypsis of the world´s economy in 2007 with the bursting of the housing bubble and the beginning of the current crisis.

The first one to realise everything was going to hell was Dr. Michael Burry , founder of Scion Capital, who was blind of one eye and suffered Asperger´s syndrom. Christian Bale does a great job featuring such role. 

Besides him, several other investors tried to tell the world but no one listened to them, so they decided to take advantage of the situation: The founders of Cornwall Capital, who started off with 110K US dollars,  reached up to 120 million dollars.

Steve Eisman and his team, with the help from the bank officer Bearn Stearns, were able to earn 200 million dollars.

This  situation made them have contradictory feelings: they were becoming millionares and at the same time thousands of families were losing it all... 

EASTER WEEK IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES-by Marina de Miranda

Spain

On Palm Sunday, most people go to mass in the morning. Children bring palm leaves and branches to be blessed by the priest. Sometimes the branches are decorated with sweets.

Many towns and cities in Spain celebrate Easter with processions through the streets at night. Floats called “tronos” are carried through the street. Each float has incredible decorated figures representing part of the Easter story on it. They are also decorated with lots of fresh flowers. Forty or fifty people carry each trone on their shoulders during the procession, which can sometimes last between four or five hours!!!

The most famous and biggest processions are held in Seville. Each one is organized by “Cofradias” or Brotherhoods. The Cofradias try to put on the biggest and the best procession and there is a lot of competition

Italy

On Good Friday, the Pope commemorates the Via Crucis at the Colosseum. On Easter Sunday, thousands of visitors congregate in St. Peter's Square to await the Pope's blessing from the church's balcony ("Urbi et Orbi").

Hungary

“Sprinkling” is a popular Hungarian Easter Monday tradition, in which boys sprinkle perfume, cologne or water over a young women’s head, and ask for a kiss.

France

In the town of Haux, a giant omelet made with 4,500 eggs that feeds 1,000 people is served up in the town’s main square.

Greece

On the morning of Holy Saturday, the traditional "Pot Throwing" takes place on the Greek island of Corfu: People throw pots, pans… out of their windows, smashing them on the street.

Three years ago I had the opportunity and the big experience of going to one of my favorite singers concert: JENNIFER LOPEZ.

Jennifer Lopez also Know as JLO or Jenny from the block, was born in July 24^th in 1970. She started her carrier as a professional dancer in various shows. Finally she made her singing debut with the song: Jenny from the block; but she is also well known for other songs like: On the floor, Live it up, Papi, Dance Again, and her last single First love. In April, she made her worldwide debut with the official song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup performed by herself, Pitbull, and the Brazilian recording artist Claudia Leitte, "We Are One’’

Nowadays, she is working as a judge in the famous TV show: American Idol. Also JLO stars in NBC's crime drama series Shades of Blue.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (SPOILER)-by Cristina Barreto

                PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

I think “Pride and Prejudice” is my favorite book. I read it last month and I really enjoyed it.
The book was written by Jane Austen, one of my favorite writers, and it was published on January 28^th, 1813. It’s one of the most famous works of English literature.

The story is about the Bennet family (Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and their five daughters). The main characters are Elizabeth Bennet (the second daughter) and Fitzwilliam Darcy, a rich man.

The Bennets are a humble family, and when two rich men (Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy) arrive in the village, all what Mrs. Bennet want is that her oldest daughters (Elizabeth and Jane) married them.

They hold a dance at the village, and the Bennets use the occasion for meeting the rich men. Mr. Bingley is very nice, but everybody finds Mr. Darcy prideful because he doesn’t talk to anyone and he rejects all the ladies who offer him to dance. Elizabeth Bennet is one of those ladies.

Elizabeth, who is very offended, considers Darcy unpleasant and prideful, and her mother and she hate him since that moment.

But the Bennets don’t know that Mr. Darcy finds Elizabeth very beautiful and he has fallen in love with her. The days after, he tries to talk to her, but she doesn't want to listen to him. She has too many prejudices about Mr. Darcy.

During the next months, they have several encounters. Darcy is increasingly in love with Elizabeth, but she doesn’t pay attention to him. Anyway, one day Darcy asks Elizabeth to marry him, but she doesn’t accept, saying that he is too prideful and selfish.

The next day, Mr. Darcy writes her a letter, apologizing for all the bad things he has done to her and her family. After reading this letter, Elizabeth finally understands that Darcy is a good person and she starts to slowly fall in love with him.

In their next encounters, Darcy is very nice with her and her family. She is surprised, because she couldn’t believe how Darcy has changed. It is at that moment when she realizes how much he loves her, and she starts regretting not having accepted his marriage proposal.

Mr. Darcy notices the change that has occurred in Elizabeth, so he asks her to marry him again. This time Elizabeth accepts the proposal. They finally get married, and Jane marries Mr. Bingley.   

THE GREAT GATSBY-by Máximo Herreros

In the high society of the 1920s New York, appears a mysterious figure that is incredibly rich.

Jay Gatsby, a young tycoon who organizes spectacular parties in his mansion in Long Island where all the young and rich people attend each week.

The objective of Gatsby is to recover the love that he lost years ago, for what he will make friendship with his new neighbor, a broker called Nick Caraway.

I personally enjoyed it because of the great setting of the film, the great interpretation of Leonardo DiCaprio in the character of Gatsby, and the way the story is told, by a storyteller that is the neighbor of Gatsby, that is interpreted by Tobey Maguire.

MY TRIP TO THE PIRINEES & STAR WARS-by Pablo Díaz Llanos

My trip to the Pirenees

Last winter my family and i went together to the Pirinees

We lived in a little apartment beside the mountains and in front of a huge lake.

The first day we did not go to the mountains because there was not enough snow so we went cycling from the town to a little house at the countryside we had a cup of coffee and we came back to the little apartment.

The next day we went to the top of the mountain and my brothers and I did a huge snowman and we put a carrot on it that looked like a nose and small rocks looking like eyes and the mouth.

It was the best winter ever 

Star wars

The movie Star wars is a very popular film all aroud the world and it is very well rated.

In the movie there are two sides :

The bright side(good people),

the dark side(bad robots and people trying to kill the bright side)

In my opinion this film is very good because the effects have been upgraded each time there is a new Star Wars film.

Also I like the way they fly in rockets and spaceships and fire the dark side at the same time

What I don’t like is the way that it took aroud 10 years to produce the newest film
