MY PROM TRIP-by ManuFP

MY PROM TRIP-By: ManuFP
Hello! Today I am going to make a summary about the Prom Trip. The Prom Trip is the experience that all secondary students of Jesús María wait for. The last 23rd of April we started the Trip with the tutors and co-tutors of 4º ESO: Beatriz, Maite, Aurelio and Manuel. It was the best trip I have ever done because we visited many amazing places with my classmates. Now I am going to explain the different towns that we have visited:

GUADALUPE: The first stop was Guadalupe that is a town located in the Province of Cáceres. It wasn´t the first time that I visited Guadalupe, when I was 9 years old I went with my family to Valdecaballeros which is near there. But this time I could visit the Monastery of Santa María Guadalupe which is one of the most important ones in the country for its architecture and Greco´s artwork. It was declared World Heritage Site by UNECO in 1993. Then we had lunch and celebrated Felipe´s birthday.

TRUJILLO: At 18.30 we stopped in Trujillo, an amazing place erected on a big granite rock, where we did a guided tour. We walked through the streets in the historic quarter and we saw the statue and Francisco Pizarro´s house too who is one of the most important conquerors of Amercia in the fifteenth century. It was pouring so we finished the tour very quickly.

CÁCERES: We arrived in Cáceres and left our luggage at, in my opinion, the best Hotel of the trip, Barceló V Centenario, then we had for dinner pasta, burgers and fries. The next day we had breakfast at 9:00: scrambled eggs, bacon, coffee…

Then we visited Cáceres, which is a very beautiful town full of history and ancient monuments like Palacio de Carvajal o the Santa Marías Concathedral, for this reason the walled city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I could never imagine that Caceres was so amazing.

Once finished the tour, we went to have lunch and then, watching the TV news, we found out about the horrible plane crash in France with several Spanish passengers. After it, we travelled to Coimbra, Portugal, we crossed the border so we couldn’t use our mobile phones for whatsapp, facebook or sending email. After arriving to our travel destination the bus broke down and Javi, the other bus driver helped us to fix it.

COIMBRA: At 19:15 we stopped in Coimbra and visited the old town but this time without a tour (great!), My friends and I (Felipe, Gon, Ina and Juan) went to the top of the city to visit the most amazing places in that City like Coimbra´s university or the typical buildings. At 20:30 we came back to the Emidio Navarro Square where we meet an alcoholic person who disturbed us. We came back to the bus and then we went to the hotel. There we unpacked, had dinner and had free time. I sat on a bench overlooking the whole city at night. At 8:00 we had breakfast and took the bus to travel to our destination, Lisbon

LISBON: Finally we arrived in our destination. Lisbon is the capital of Portugal, it is one of the most amazing cities I have ever visited. There we made a guided tour but inside the bus with a lovely girl, she showed us the most extraordinary places of Lisbon like Torre de Belem which is by the Tajo river, where the river becomes wider and finishes in the Atlantic Ocean. We also visited the Plaza del Comercio and the25th of may bridge which connected Lisbon with Almada. When the guided tour finished I bought some souvenirs for my Family like a cup, the Flag of Portugal, and 4 Pasteles de Belem boxes, that is the best cake I have ever eaten. We had lunch and went to Mérida

MÉRIDA: We arrived at 21:00 to Mérida and we had free time. At 8:30 we had breakfast and visited the Roman Theater and Amphitheater. This time the tour guide was Manuel, that in my opinion was the clearest in his explanation. When the tour was done we went to the bus and we returned to Madrid… (nooooo…..)

MADRID: It turned out, in my opinion, the most awaited moment for the teachers but the saddest time for the students, the return to Madrid… In this time I was with Beatriz and Maite and we talked about the school my sisters and a lot of different topics like the my opinion of the prom trip. We also talked with Lucia and Belen. Then we arrived in Madrid and picked up my luggage. After saying goodbye I came back home very quickly to explain to my parents the amazing prom trip that we had done.

CONCLUSSION: The prom trip has been my best high school experience. I recommend for future students to make the same journey! I have learnt that the most important thing is not where you go it is just who you go with…! I would also like to apologize to the teachers for our behavior.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, AND SEE YOU SOON!

THE PROM TRIP

Months ago we went on our Prom Trip as every year the students of 4th ESO do. This year we insisted that the trip would be out of Spain. We finally got to go to Portugal , specifically to Coimbra and Lisbon.

But the trip this year was a little different, not only because we left Spain, because we made a path that began in Guadalupe and ended in Merida. On the first day we went to Guadalupe, Trujillo and Caceres. The second day we visited Caceres and went to Coimbra. The third day we went way to Lisbon, visited Lisbon and then went to Merida . The fourth day we visited Merida and went to Oropesa and from there returned to Madrid.

For me these four days out of school with all my course were awesome, but the best part of the trip was the bus as it was where we spent more time together, listening to music, talking, playing ...
On this trip I was able to improve the relationship with some of my colleagues but also meet others that I had not been involved with before.
In my opinion this type of trips should continue to be made , because they are a fantastic experience because while you get to see different places, you meet people and have a great time.

THE TRIP-by Carlota de la Puente

The trip

My experience in the trip was fantastic.
I had a great time and the places that we visited were so beautiful.
At first, I was  really nervous ,one week with my schoolmates and teachers outside Madrid ,visiting lots of places , sounds amazing doesn´t it?
We went to lots of villages like Cáceres, Trujillo, and, also we went outside Spain,we spent two days in Portugal , visiting Lisbon and Coimbra.
The place that I liked the most was Lisbon.
The city was so pretty with the sea around it and ,the streets were old but also, other streets which were more ordinary.
In the place that I had lot of fun in, was Trujillo. We all ended up soaked.
In general I spent a great week during the trip with my friends and the teachers.
I'll never forget this experience.

4th OF ESO PROM TRIP - by Lucía Alonso de Medina

4th OF ESO PROM TRIP (JUNE’S BLOG)
Last 23rd of March at 7:30 in the morning, started our school trip.
We entered the bus very excitedly and wanting to have fun.
FIRST DAY (23rd of March)
We travelled Madrid-Guadalupe and when we arrived, we visited the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Guadalupe. An official tourist guide showed us the monastery and we learned a lot of interesting things about it.
After the visit we ate in a restaurant: salad, chicken and for dessert, a chocolate and vanilla ice cream.

After we ate we went to Trujillo. We had a tourist guide booked.

But…the weather was horrible! It was hailing! And all of us got wet.
When we finished we took the bus again and went to Cáceres.
When we arrived to Cáceres it was at night.
We went to the V Centenary Hotel, the rooms were for 2-3 people.

When our teacher gave us the key of the room my friends and me ran very fast because we wanted to know how our room was. Our room was very big and comfortable and we were very happy to stay there. But our clothes were really wet because of the big rain in Trujillo, so my friends and I tried to dry our clothes with the hair dryer.

SECOND DAY (24th March)
We had breakfast at the hotel. The buffet was fantastic all the food I ate was delicious.
When we finished we took the bus and we went to visit the city of Cáceres (Extremadura).
When we arrived to Cáceres we had an official tourist guide who explained us the most important parts of the city. Also the tourist guide showed us an ancient castle, near to a catholic church, that had been affected by a war .
After the visit we had free time, my friends and I bought presents for our families and took a lot of nice shots together.
Afterwards, we saw the city of Cáceres we took the bus and went to Coimbra (Portugal).
This route was the longest so most of the people slept in the bus, including me.

When we arrived to Coimbra I found it a very beautiful and original city.
Here we had free time and my friends and me, spent it ‘’exploring’’ the city and took pictures.
After that, we went to the Dom Louis hotel.
THIRD DAY (25th of March)
We woke up at 06:00 am. Had breakfast and took the bus to go to Lisbon.
When we arrived we had an official tourist guide that showed us the city: Plaza del Comercio, Torre de Belem…After that we had free time.
Lisbon is a very beautiful city and has a lot historical things to see. It's very different from Spain, for example if you want to enter a public bathroom you have to pay 50 cts. That thing was very curious for me because I had never seen it.

When I was little I stayed in Lisbon with my family and we tasted the typical sweet: ‘’pasteles de Belem’’ so in the free time I bought this sweet for my family.
Afterwards we saw Lisbon we took the bus to go to Mérida.
When we arrived to Mérida it was night. We slept on the Trip Medea hotel.
LAST DAY (26 of March)
We woke up at 07:00 am and took the bus and saw the Roman Theatre. Our tourist guide was my teacher Manuel.
He explained us and showed all the theatre very good.
After that we went to Oropesa (Toledo), we had free time.
The sun was shining and the most of the people spent it to relax.
Finally we came back to Madrid and this trip was really funny! Jokes on the microphone, my friend and me painted our nails and of course we sang a lot of different kinds of music.
I want to say thanks for all my friends, the bus driver that was very nice with us, the tourist guides because they showed us a lot of things and all the teachers that have thought out this trip and took care of us: Beatriz, Manuel, Maite and Aurelio.
THANK YOU FOR ALL AND FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE!

PROM TRIP-by Juan V.

We started our Prom trip around 7:30 a.m. of the 23rd of March. We drove to Guadalupe, and there we visited Guadalupe’s Monaster. After that, we had lunch at a restaurant in the center of town. During nap time we were driving up Trujillo, went sightseeing by Trujillo under a heavy storm; it was a pity but we couldn't see almost anything because of the storm… Finally, in the evening, we drove to Caceres, we had dinner in the hotel (very nice hotel indeed) and went to bed. Day one was finished.
We started our second day with a really good breakfast in the hotelthen we went on a tour of Caceres. At 1:00 p.m. we got onto the bus; next station Coimbra, Portugal! We arrived and we had a free city tour. It is a really cool city but in my opinion with too much spree. We spent the night in a hotel there. Day two was finished.
The next morning we left early to Lisbon, we met a local guide that showed us the Portuguese capital, after the cultural visit we went shopping for two hours and then had lunch at a restaurant. After lunch we went back to Spain. We got to Merida’s hotel, had dinner and went to bed. Day three was finished.
On the morning of 26th, we visited the theater and amphitheater of Merida. Finally, we drove back to Madrid. Our Prom trip was over but we had a really good time!
