LIGHT FIGHTS FEAR-by Inés Cava

LIGHT FIGHTS FEAR

Light can play an important role to manage fear and anxiety, a group of american scientists claim.
We are often afraid in our bed or when we are alone, specially when there isn't so much light. Light helps us to feel more comfortable and secure, because we can see the things around ourselves. There is a very large percentage of the population (mostly kids) who can't sleep well or can't be alone for an instant.
This are very hard problems which have to be fixed or addressed by a psychologist.
Some fears (surprise and scary sounds, fear of the heights, fast movements...) are part of people's characteristics since they were born.
The absence of light can be a source of fear and great amounts of light can reduce fear and anxiety. There are studies that confirm this hypothesis, for example, a mouse has more fear and anxiety if there is a very strong light. This is because they are nocturnal animals and they feel more comfortable in the dark.
