WHY VIDEOGAMES DO NOT MAKE YOU VIOLENT-by Pablo Biurrun

Why videogames don’t make you violent.
Many people think that if you play videogames you are a psycho but this is because of the ignorance of people and the misrepresentation of the media.
Let’s start whit the ignorance of people: if you have not played videogames you’ve probably heard loads of stereotypes such as these ones: if you kill in videogames you don’t see the difference between killing in real life and killing in a videogame, if you play violent videogames you become violent, many young murderers play videogames…
So now I will explain why this is not true: a normal person knows the difference between a 3D virtual entity, programmed to die and a human person made of matter that is truly alive; you don’t become violent by playing violent videogames for the same reason of that you don’t become a doctor playing doctor games. The reason is that it is only a game; and the last one, there are plenty of murderers that don’t have access to videogames(for example murderers in poor countries) and murderers who play videogames are a minority.
I’ll start with the media now: when there’s a young murderer, the media always writes or says things kind of: he listened to rock, heavy metal…; he played violent videogames…
Now I’m going to tell you the truth: if a person listens to any music, that doesn’t change his mind. It is only music; and if a person was a psycho before playing to videogames, and then after playing to videogames he kills a person, he was already a psycho. And if a normal person plays videogames nothing is going to happen.
So with this sentence I finish:
Play videogames, because they are a good entertainment but do other things because you can’t live of that.
