TORRIJAS-by Ana de la Puente

TORRIJAS:

Is a popular plate in our gastronomy in the Easter. There are diferent  types of torrijas( with honey, anisette...)

INGEDIENTS:

-1 loaf of bread from the day before
-1 litre of milk
-5 or 6 spoons of sugar 
-the rind of a half lemon
-4 eggs
-Light olive oil

STEPS:

1-We boil milk with the lemon rind three for four minutes, and we leave it until it is at room temperature.
2-We cut the bread in slices of thickness of 1cm or 1,5 cm.
3-We beat the eggs.
4-We heat up the frying pan with plenty light olive oil and we soak the slices of bread in milk.
5-We soak the slices of bread in beaten egg.
6-Then we fry the torrijas in both sides.
7-The last step is to pour sugar and the torrijas are done.

I recommend you this recipe because torrijas are delicious and the Easter is very close so you might try to cook them.
