ENCHANTED BHUTAN-by Marta González López

    ENCHANTED BHUTAN

If you have ever wondered which is the most charming place on Earth, you should read this to find out.
First of all, ‘’Kuzuzangpo’’ which means hello in the national language of the Kingdom of Bhutan, called Dzongkha.
In a hidden corner of the Far East, appears the magical Kingdom of Bhutan. It is located at the Eastern end of the Himalayas and surrounded by an overwhelming nature

Even though the Kingdom of Bhutan is one of the smallest countries in the world it has a wide and unique culture. Its colorful festivals keep traditions alive over the ages, the most famous may be ‘’Tshechu’’ which is an annual and religious festival. It represents a really attractive event for tourists.

With a population of only 745’103 people, Bhutan is a wonderfully conserved environment with over 6’216 different species of insects, mammals, amphibians, birds, reptiles and plants, which means it is one of the countries with the greatest biological diversity in the world. For instance, the Snow leopard, an endangered animal, or the Takin, which is the national animal; and the Meconopsis the national flower.

Bhutanese is the name given to the people born in Bhutan. They are known for hospitality and friendliness. What I love most about this country is that Bhutan’s society emphasizes ‘’Prosperity and Happiness’’ and that it is more important for them the ‘’Gross National Happiness’’ than the ‘’Gross National Product’’.

Now that you have a more accurate idea of what the Kingdom of Bhutan is, you may be interested in planning a trip there (at least I am). You must know that anyone (excluding Indian, Bangladeshi and Maldivian) needs a visa in addition to other travel requirements to be allowed to enter the country.
I really look forward to visiting the Kingdom of Bhutan in the future.
