What to do if you are ever in Sydney!

What to do if you are ever in Sydney……
Though I am not actually from Sydney, many of my extended family live there and I have come to know it pretty well. So if you ever get a chance to visit this wonderful city here are some of things you should check out and places you should visit to really get a feel for this great place.
World famous, the Sydney Opera House is a building you really must see. Its architecture is amazing and the acoustics inside are phenomenal.

Walk around Circular Quay, this is right on the harbour of Sydney and there are many great buskers that perform here.

Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If your fear of heights prevents you from doing this (like me) it is still fantastic to walk across the pedestrian footpath. (An interesting fact about the Sydney Harbour Bridge is that the granite used to build it is from Moruya- my hometown).

Catch a ferry around the harbour, as well as getting a lovely breeze there are many great photo opportunities.

Go for a walk in the beautiful Hyde Park, the main park in the centre of Sydney.

Have a look at the art galleries in Surry Hills, this suburb is known for its arty vibe and its wonderful galleries don’t fall short of the mark.

This suburb also holds great markets on the weekend.
Visit Taronga Zoo, this has so many different species of animals which are all treated with exceptional care. If you can, go to the different animal talks that the zoo keepers give.

Visit the Sydney Aquarium, this is a fantastic place and has so many different types of sea life. You can also go swimming with sharks at this aquarium.

Go up to the Sydney Tower, this buildings is the tallest in Sydney and gives amazing panorama views.

Visit Newtown, this trendy suburb is known for its quirky and one of kind stores. You could spend a whole day wondering the streets of Newtown and are sure to pick up some great buys. While you are there make sure you visit the Cow and Moon cafe on Enmore Road and order some of the gelato which was named the best in the world this year.

Try a dessert from Adriano Zumbo. This is my favourite patisserie in Sydney and his macarons are to die for!  You can find his patisseries in the suburbs of Balmain and Rozelle.

With the large influence that Asia has on Australia, it is a must to visit China Town. The great stores and fantastic food will transport you straight to Asia.

Take a walk down Oxford and William Street. In these streets you find the high fashion stores of Sydney.

Make sure you visit the beaches of Sydney, especially Bondi beach and Manly Beach. These beaches are so beautiful and once you’ve take a quick dip, a great way to finish the day is to take a walk and browse the shops.

Sydney is a city brimming with character and multiculturalism. It is a place with much to offer and these ideas of things to do and places to see will give you a taste of Sydney’s personality and what this city has to offer. I really hope that this blog post will make you want to visit Sydney and if so ensure that you have fantastic time while you are there.
