Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) is a unique forensic
anthropologist who works for the Jeffersonian Institute, and is also a
writer of black novels. She is usually involved in police investigations
of murders when the remains of the victims are unrecognizable. She has
an extraordinary ability to decrypt keys hidden in the bodies of the
victims. Brennan works with a special agent called Seeley Booth (David
Boreanaz) from FBI murder investigations unit. Booth, an agent trained
in the army, does not trust in science or scientists. He is convinced
that the key to solve the crimes lies in discovering the truth by those
who are still alive - witnesses and suspects. For this reason, he
clashes with Dr. Brennan professionally and personally.
Characters
-Seeley
Booth, a former sniper with little faith in science, who carefully
studies the physical evidence. He works closely with the doctor and
writer of bestsellers Temperance Brennan to solve difficult crimes. The
FBI agent and the doctor make a good team since while Booth provides the
part of intuition and common sense, Brennan is responsible for
scientific work.
He is the type of man that is athletic,
sociable, with sense of humor. He takes things calmly and has infinite
patience with Dr. Brennan.
-Dr. Temperance Brennan is a forensic anthropologist, specialist in
bones, which tends to be required by the homicide Department of the FBI
to solve the most unusual crimes. She tries to search for any evidence
that will help them catch the culprit in skeletons and manages to find
evidence hidden under the bones.
She is very intelligent, a
workaholic and usually says things the way they are, without thinking
what the consequences might be. Her eagerness to do justice and to find the
killer, lead her in many cases to borderline disaster in situations, coming out
unscathed thanks to Booth.
-Angela Montenegro is Dr. Brennan’s best friend on "Bones" and she puts
face to the victims. She is a forensic with artistic talent and great
knowledge of the human body. In addition, she can hand-draw the faces,
using various advanced technologies.
Sometimes she is the voice
of reason, because the doctor doesn’t allow to mix her personal life and
work. Angela is a liberal and uninhibited person, which is what usually
gives a touch of freshness to the group. She constantly tries to convince
Dr. Brennan to devote more time to her private life (in particular she
cares more about romantic relationships), but usually with little
success.
-Dr. Jack Hodgins has three doctorates that is why he calls himself
the "King of the laboratory". He owns the Group Cantilever, one of the
largest individual donors of the Jeffersonian Institute, which makes him
immensely rich. This makes him, at the same time, "the boss" of
everyone in the lab,but he keeps it as a secret so he can continue with
his work as a scientist, that it is the only thing he really wants to.
His sense of humor, sharp and sarcastic, makes him a very sociable
scientist away from the classical cliche of rat's library, making
constant jokes about each case and those involved in it.
-Camilla Saroyan was incorporated during the second season of Bones as the
head of the Forensic Department of the Jeffersonian Institute, and she is the source of conflict in that part of the Center due to her
disagreements with Dr. Brennan.
Camille tries to manage both
personal and scientific in the Forensic Department of the Jeffersonian
Institute. This makes her be a part of the team, because Dr. Saroyan
is a very qualified forensic, who gets into an area that hasn’t
been explored by anthropologists, such as DNA, toxicology and pathogen
testing, resulting a very useful addition.
