NIGERIA-by Paula González

Nigeria

Situated in the Gulf of Guinea with an extension of 923.768 km² which is approximately double the size of Spain, it shares land borders with the Republic of Benin to the west, Chad and Cameroon to the east, and Niger to the north. It's also one of the most populated countries of Africa with 173,6 millions of inhabitants. Because of his situation, it has tropical weather with rainy and dry seasons. In general, the length of the rainy season decreases from south to north.

It's very rich in natural resources with a great oil production. The population is mostly muslin but there is also an important Christian community. I saw on tv that in the lasts years Christians have been chased and many churches had been burned down. I also saw that months ago more than three hundred girls were kidnaped by the Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram.
Due to the fact that it's an Islamic country women have not the same rights than men.
