NIGERIA
Nigeria is a country that is located in West Africa, and its land borders with Benin, Chad and Niger. Its coast in the south lies on the gulf of Guinea.
Nigeria has a total area of 923,768 km²; in the world it's the 32nd-largest country.
It has a coastline of at least 853 km.
Nigeria lies between latitudes 4° and 14°N, and longitudes 2° and 15°E.
Nigeria´s culture is very varied. In Nigeria there are many writers and poets that write in English language. It also has the second largest newspaper market in Africa with an estimated circulation of several million copies daily in 2003.
Nigeria also has a lot of various genres of African music including West African Highlife, Afrobeat and Palm Wine music with lot of different techniques.
Although in November of 2008, Nigeria´s music scene received international attention when MTV hosted the continent´s first African music awards show in Abuja.
The Nigerian film industry is known as Nollywood and is the 2nd largest producer of movies in the world of cinema.
About sports, in Nigeria football is considered the Nigeria´s national sport and its country as its own league of football.
The football team of Nigeria is called the “Super Eagles” and they have won the World cup in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and in 2014, last year. They also have won the African cup of nations in 1980, 1994 and in 2013. Although they have won the 1996 Summer Olympics becoming the first African football team to win gold in Olympic Football.
Nigeria is also known for its cuisine, for its richness and variety. They used to use many different spices, herbs and flavorings. They use them to cook with palm oil or groundnut oil to create original and flavored sauces and soups often made very hot with chili peppers.
Nigerian feasts are very different as Spanish feasts. They are colorful, aromatic and lavish.
