GREEN DAY
Is an American rock band from California lead by Billy Joe Armstrong (singer and guitarist), Mike Dirnt (guitarist and chorist) and Tré Cool (battery and choirs). The band got together in 1987 with the name Sweet Children and in 1989 they changed their name for Green Day. They edited their first album (1000 hours) with Lookout Records in 1989. One year later the first album 39/smoot came out and in 1992 their second album Kerplunk .   They did several national tours which launched their popularity to a higher level.                                                                                                                

They left Lookout Records and started to work with Reprise Records. They launched their third album in 1994 (Dookie) and they reached million copies, in 1995 Imnsomniac and in 1997 Nimrod. The last recordings of the band have been Warning (2000), American Idiot (2004) and Bullet in a Bible (2005). For the song Boulevard of broken dreams they received a Grammy for best song of the year.
