MY SUMMER-by María Lope

MY SUMMER

I´m going to talk about my summer. Especially the summer camp that I went to, called Operación Ingles (OPI). It´s an English summer camp in Spain. It was in a very big school in Extremadura, called San Jose. The people who went were all from different parts of Spain. It was a lot of fun and we learned a lot about the rest of our country. Also there were students from the USA who came to learn Spanish. It was very interesting also because you see the differences between their culture and ours. All the monitors were from different countries like Ukraine, Scotland, Arabia Saudi, the USA… In the morning we had 2 hours of class, 1 monitor every hour. The classes were about conversation. Then we had an hour of sports. You had two options:the one that you choose(you can choose from basketball, football, volleyball or cheerleader) and the one that they choose for you. You practice different sports, every day and you don´t play regular sports. You practice more special sports like capture the flag, karate… Then you had another two different classes. When you finish your classes you have lunch and free time. In the evening you have 3 hours of workshops and 1 hour of swimming pool. You can choose from a lot of different workshops like dance, tennis, cooking, photography, gymnastics, yoga… whatever you want. You do your own timetable and in the middle of the camp you can decide if you want to change or continue with the ones that you had the week before. This routine changes during the weekend. We divide the camp into 2 groups and we catch a bus and we go to a different place for a night. There we do interesting activities like: paddle-surf, kayak, paintball, horse riding, rappelling… And some days are special, not all days are the same. For example, one night is the Saint Valentine´s day, another night is the carnival then karaoke, one day is the day of the Olympics… In summary, it was a very good summer camp where I made a lots of friends of different parts of the world, I improved my English ,and I had a lot of fun.
