They are twelve district, and each year they choose two people, one from each district and in the hunger games they have to fight for their lives. Only one person from the district can last. Katniss and Peeta are the chosen ones of district twelve, so people call them the boy and the girl on fire because they wore clothes that were on fire. People liked that so much, they helped them by sending them things during the games.
