Happy International Women’s Day!!

 

Today 8th March we celebrate the International Working Women´s Day. 

We commemorate the struggle of women for their participation in society at an equal level with 

men and for their full development as human beings. The first celebration of the International

Day of Working Women was held on March 19, 1911 in Germany, Austria, Denmark and 

Switzerland. In 1977 the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) declared March 8 

as the International Day for Women's Rights and International Peace. 

 
 
Every year different topics are chosen for the International Women's Day. 
This year’s theme is “Empowering Women - Empowering Humanity: Picture It!" 
It envisions a world where each woman and girl can exercise her choices, such as
participating in politics, getting an education, having personal earnings and living in 
societies free from violence and discrimination.
