NIGERIAN FOOD-by Marta González-Hidalgo

As the school is doing a project with Nigeria, this month I wanted to talk about something related to this country. Each country has very different habits as the dress, religion or food, to know a little better Nigeria I focused on one of these customs, food.
There are many dishes of Nigeria and some are not only typical of this country but throughout Africa. Some of these dishes are:
The jollof rice
it is a dish that is eaten in different countries in Africa, not only in Nigeria. The main ingredients are usually rice, tomato paste, tomato, green pepper, onion and salt, although these ingredients can vary depending on the country.

The suyas
It's a typical food in Nigeria. They are like skewers or skewers. This dish was started to cook in the northern part of the country. It usually has chicken, fish or beef and tankota, which is a mixture of dry spices with peanut, ginger, onion, cayenne and paprika sets. The suyas are made on the grill.

The moin moin
It is a type of pudding originally from Nigeria. It is a staple of Nigerian meals. The invention of this dish originated in the Southwest. The stew takes veneers, washed and peeled beforehand onions and peppers and crushed chillies and sweet and spicy red pepper. This stew is accompanied by various side dishes.

Soup egussi
This soup is typical of Nigeria, is a stew of meat, dried fish and melon seeds. It is usually eaten with fufu, which is made with yams, mashed yams that are great tubers, or white rice.

The chin chin
It is a fried snack, popular in Nigeria and the rest of West Africa. It is a sweet donut and hard to do both fried and baked, although it is usually done fried. The mass used is made with eggs and flour.

These are some of the typical dishes in Nigeria and now I know a little more about this country.
