Loeb Strauss
The story of Levis began in Germany, in the 19th
century when Loeb Strauss was born
He was 18 when he immigrated with his
family to the U.S.A. His father founded a fabric business for tents and carts which was
called Strauss Brothers. Co. in New
York. After his fatehr's death in 1845, Loeb, nicknamed Levi, moved to San
Francisco during the fever of gold and there he opened the first store. Then,
Levi realized that the miners needed strong trousers and he designed and
manufactured the first brown trousers which became blue because the fabric sold
out. Later, customers complained that the pockets were not resistant enough and
he put metal reinforcements in the corners
Currently the Levi brand is present all over the world
with more than 20,000 workers, and not only as one of the most fashionable
jeans, but also with casual clothes and sportswear, and with shoes, belts,
wallets, glasses and watches that they manufacture for their own brands Levi´s,
Dockers´ and Slates
