THE MENTALIST-by Lola García-Romeu

The Mentalist

Patrick Jane used to work as a television medium when his wife and daughter are murdered by a serial killer named Red John. From then on, he decides to use his skills to help solve murder cases by working as a detective in the police, while at the same time he is trying to find Red John. Agent Jane will be able to see what others cannot, and his powers of observation and deduction will give the police excellent results even though he does his job a little bit different.

Characters
Patrick Jane: the protagonist and the Mentalist of the series. Son of Showmen, before entering as Adviser to the CBI (California Bureau of Investigation), worked as a seer, bilking those who believed him due to its great power of observation and without possessing any supernatural power. After appearing in a television program and mocking serial killer Red John, he decides to take revenge and  brutally kills his wife and daughter, showing the world that Patrick Jane is just a fraud. After that, Jane joins the CBI as a consultant using his skills to solve crimes. Although he is a bit eccentric, he is also very perceptive and many of the theories he considers help solve cases that are being investigated (while his methods are a bit Orthodox and often on the edge of the law).

Teresa Lisbon: she is a beautiful woman, but at the same time a great strong leader , brave and determined, and willing to sacrifice either by the mission, her team or innocent people involved. She is the head of the team. At the beginning, the strange behavior of Jane bothers her and she always has to intercede for him when he gets in trouble. However, they work well together and even if she doesn’t admit it, Teresa sees Patrick as a valued member of the team and in some cases supports his most unusual theories; she is very close to the rules and always tries to keep a rough attitude to demonstrate her authority, but she is actually a person who is concerned about her team and with sense of humor (otherwise she could not bear Patrick)

Kimball Cho: He is one of the members of the team of CBI. He is one of the best in terms of interrogations because he is an impassively and pragmatic character. Cho is serious almost all the time (although he has a great sense of humor) and says things without thinking how it will affect other people. He was in the army and in a reformatory as a teenager, since he belonged to a youth gang.

Wayne Rigsby: another Member of the team. Rigsby is the typical large but good-hearted. He is always eating anything that he finds and almost always loses jis money with Jane when betting against him. He is in love with Van Pelt, but since they work together, Rigsby can’t tell her what he truly feels. Motorists displease him since his father was one of them. He was in the fire brigade and has been in the police for more than five years
