The social network:
Mark Zuckerberg is a college student that is studying
psychology and computer science at Harvard University. In 2003 he and his
roommates created a program called Facemash that let the Harvard students select
the best looking girl of the fraternities, this caused him trouble but he got
what he wanted “reputation as a programming prodigy”.
Later that “joke” (as he called it) made him
interesting for some fraternities such as the Phoenix, in this particular fraternity
three senior students asked Mark if he could help them with programming a social
network called Harvard Connection that was based on a date network but was
unique to Harvard students, Mark accepted but during the process he never talk to
either three of his workmates, so they began to suspect he was scheming something with
their idea, and that was when “The Facebook” came up. In the beginning they didn’t
want to denounce him, but when they tried to contact with Mark he never
answered so they ended up denouncing him and they went to trial where
Mark had to pay 65 million to them.
While that was happening Mark moved to California
where he opened his first office, but he didn’t achieve that with his best friend
Eduardo, who was his financial officer, but he achieved it with Sean Parker who made an ambush so
Eduardo would get just a minimum percent of the earnings, what caused
Mark to go to trial, which ended with Mark's victory.
This movie is, in my opinion, a clear reflection of
society because it shows us what some people are capable of doing for money and the
cruelty of others if they don’t get what they want.
