POVERTY IN THE WORLD-by Paula Heras

One of the biggest current problems in this globalized world nowadays is poverty.
Even though many people say it is a temporally and isolated problem in my opinion we, as a part of a developed population, should do something.
Let’s be honest, this is not a one or two day task, but if we never start we will never be able to “change the world”.

Despite the fact that some children go to school just because they have to, the majority are interested in attending classes, having experiences, be with their friends and learning new things.
Several studies show that our behavior is mainly based on what we see at home and on what we have learnt at school.
Knowing the terrible effects of poverty since we are little could be a way to be more solidary and get involved with the less fortunate.

Conversely, being in the twenty-first century could be an advantage for worldwide communication.
Increasing media coverage would be a way used by Governments to raise awareness about poverty.
People would be shocked if they saw how poverty is affecting others on TV or radio everyday. We would be overwhelming if we actually knew that, as I said before, it is nowhere near to an isolated problem.

Much could be done to end with this injustice, nevertheless, I believe that encouraging TV companies or radio stations so that they made sure all of their audience had the chance to know the terrible effects of poverty is the best way of do it.
