PROM TRIP-by María Rico

PROM TRIP

During the prom trip, we visited lots of places. At first we stayed at Guadalupe and then in Trujillo, the truth was that it had been hard day because it was raining all the time and we got soaked. Next day we went to visit Caceres and we passed the frontier and then we went to Coimbra. The next morning was my favorite part of the journey, Lisbon. I went with many expectations because I had heard good things about this city, and I also had always wanted to discover it. After visiting Lisbon we went to Merida. And the last day we saw Merida, we stopped for lunch at Oropesa and came back home.
During the trip we stayed a long time on the bus, and had the opportunity to meet our driver, Javi. He was very nice and fun and we had a great time with him. We talked to him about his work and told us that was what he liked best in life, he enjoyed it and it was really something to admire.
As I said before, what I liked the most was Lisbon. We did a guided tour from the bus, which came in handy at all because Lisbon was too large to cross it by foot. We saw many things, among which is the Tower of Belem:
It was built by the architect Francisco de Arruda in 1514 and is one of the most important monuments of this city so it is frequented by tourists. It is a spectacular and a very beautiful monument. It reflects a style of architecture that was present during the reign of King Manuel I of Portugal and this tower was used to collect taxes from those who came to the city. The Tower of Belem is located at the mouth of the Tajo river’s, at the southwest of the city.
