ROYAL FEVER-by María Carreño

ROYAL FEVER
It’s interesting, British people love their traditions and especially the Royal Family. I’m surprised by the fact they have low percent of republicans, exactly the opposite of Spain.
This weekend born Princess Charlotte, the second daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, was born. Despite not being the heir, this birth has been completely exciting to Londoners who have been forming a queue across from the hospital since the duchess’s due date. It’s amazing to see how cheerful they are.

Also, British people have been making a bet about how the prince or princess would be called, but until today we haven’t found out the whole name; because as in all the European monarchies the royal baby must have at least three names. So our newly born princess is named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, a meaningful name, Charlotte, female form of Charles, honouring her grandfather the Prince of Wales, Elizabeth honouring The Queen Elizabeth II and Diana in order to pay tribute to Princess Diana, the beloved mother of Prince William and still the Queen of hearts.

The name of the princess isn't official until the Queen has checked it and when the Queen has definitely examined it, then the royal emissary announces it to the crowds near the hospital, also at the same time an announcement is put up on a easel located in the fence of Buckingham Palace.
Though these days we have had some remarkable images like Prince George visiting with his father his little sister, trying to imitate his father ‘s wave to the crowds and the first visit of both families.

London turns pink for newborn princess, when the birth is announced the city lights turn blue/pink, for this occassion pink. Some monuments like the London Eye, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar square fountains were flooded with pink light. But it wasn’t just in London where the news of William and Kate ‘s new arrival was celebrated with colorful pink lights, Belfast also had a rosy glow.

In conclusion, these days have been an unforgettable experience as was mine when Prince George was born on summer of 2013.
