The Met Gala 

The Gala Met or Met Ball is an annual charity event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. This gala serves as inauguration for the annual exhibition of fashion this museum. Each year the show has a different theme related to the exhibition and each year the event, also, has honorary chairpersons.

Afterwards, the exhibition gala is usually open to the public several months. The gala is considered one of the most exclusive events in the city and the most important red carpet fashion show in the world. In addition to being one of the charity events with highest revenue with the record $ 12 million in 2014. This is gala raises a lot because important people attend, from the world of art, fashion, socialites, music as well as movies.

In 2014, the Individual tickets cost $ 25,000 for those outside the official guest list, the annual guest list that includes only 650-700 people.

Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief and a chair of the event since 1995, is the person in charge of the guest list, organization, etc, she is as the host of the gala. In addition to Wintour's role of chairing the whole event, there are annual chairs and co-chairs of for the day of the event. For example in 2014, the chairwoman was Aerin Lauder while the co-chairmen were Bradley Cooper, Oscar de la Renta, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lizzie and Jonathan Tisch, and Anna Wintour herself. 

The gala has two parts, the cocktail and formal dinner. During the cocktail, guests walk the red carpet, they take photos and see the exhibition, to finally get to dinner. Guests "should" follow the theme of the exhibition for their suits but sometimes it's from a topic, so generally it is very difficult or sometimes it is easier for one gender than the other.

The firt gala was in 1971 with the exposition: Fashion Plate and the last one, the exposition of this year, is China: Through the Looking Glass , it will be exposed from May 7 to August 16, 2015
