PROM TRIP`-by Marta Fernández Herrero

PROM TRIP:
This year is our last year of ESO (secondary school), and in Jesus Maria they organize the prom trip.
Prom trip is a 4 days trip for all 10th year students (4th of ESO).
This year we went in March to Extremadura and Portugal. We went to so many places: Trujillo, Caceres ,Coimbra ,Lisbon ,Merida and Oropesa. We visited all the places in just 4 days by bus.
We were sleeping in 4 and 5 stars hotels and they were fantastic. We also had lunch in amazing restaurants.
We had a really good bus driver that drove us everywhere, Javi , and for me he is the best driver.
In my opinion this trip was the best trip we’ve ever done. I loved when we were all on the bus with our classmates singing and in the hotels sleeping with our friends ; also when we were visiting the castle in Caceres or the Casco antiguo in Coimbra was very beautiful.
The weather was the only thing that wasn`t so good at all, because the first 2 days it rained a lot. Then, in Portugal it stopped raining and we had from then on good weather.
We first arrived to Guadalupe to visit the monastery and then we went by bus to have lunch in a restaurant at Guadalupe, where we ate the typical food from there. Later we went to Trujillo and we had a sightseeing tour around it, it was really interesting and learnt so many things about the history of Trujillo.
We visited the museum Pizarro and the house too. Was incredible to see all his house clean and perfect like he was still living there.  Then it started raining and we went inside the Pizarro´s house till it stopped raining. Afterwards we went to the Casco Antigo and there we had free time. We finished our visit in Trujillo and went to Caceres where we slept. Next day we went on a tour around Caceres where we visited Plaza mayor, the Palace of Carvajal , the diosa Caceres…
In Caceres was everything very old, the houses were little. Although it was a very beautiful city.
Then we had lunch in a restaurant in Caceres and we headed to Portugal. When we passed the border we all switched off our our mobile phones, since it’s another country so it's more expensive than calling in Spain.
We were  travelling all morning by bus and finally we arrived to Coimbra. We had free time for visiting the city and buying some staff and souvenirs. In the afternoon we went to the hotel which was the best one and the biggest that we went to.

On the third day we went to Lisbon on a 4 hours trip. When we arrived to the city we had a sightseeing tour on the bus which was easier for visiting everything, we saw everything and it was very beautiful. We stopped for some free time and then we had lunch in a restaurant.
After Lisbon we went to Merida where we spent our last night and the last day we went to the Roman theater and amphitheater of Merida, which was amazing and a very beautiful artwork. We took some pictures and then we passed by Oropesa to have lunch on the way to Madrid.
This was our prom trip and I personally loved it. I think it was a very good idea because everybody got to know more things about other people and we spent a really good time visiting new things, sharing experiences , playing games and doing activities together.
In my opinion these trips are a very good idea for taking leave of ESO and starting high school.
