THE WEATHER IN TRUJILLO-by Lucía Fernández-Cuesta

"The weather in Trujillo"

It had been a long trip when we got to Trujillo. We had been inside a bus for about two or three hours which seemed to be the longest hours of our lives and, unfortunately, Trujillo was just the second stop in our prom trip.

We didn’t expect much of the guided tour. In addition, we were really tired and we didn’t feel like going all over a town full of slopes. The sky was turning grey and soon after, the first raindrops began to fall followed by the worst non-stop rain of our lives.
We were completely soaked when we got inside a cave which was used to save up the rainwater but we were all excited about the idea of staying indoors, away from the rain. However, we couldn’t believe our eyes when a friend and me noticed that we were exactly behind the wide hole in the roof which separated us and some other people of the rest of the class. The rain was pouring down even more than before and we had to go through the hole to get to where the rest of our classmates were.
After that, we were told to get out of the cave and go to a museum which I’m pretty sure ended up completely wet as well.

Finally, when we got back to the hotel we were all exhausted and we just wanted to have a hot shower. In spite of it all and thinking it through, we had so much fun.
