Athletic Club is the football team from the city of Bilbao. It is one of the oldest clubs in Spain. Is the team with the most Spanish players in the league.

The home shirt of Athletic is red and white and the away one is green. The Athletic is in the BBVA league and it has never played in the second league, always in the first league. This year athletic club is playing the Champions League. The Club has won eight league titles, twenty three king´s cups, and one Supercup.

The athletic club´s rules are very restrictive and only those who are born in the Basque Country can play in the club. The Athletic Club was created in 1898. The Athletic´s stadium is called ¨San Mames¨. It has a capacity for 53.332 spectators. San Mames barria was built last year and there, Athletic has only lost three matches (Two Atlético Madrid and one Espanyol).

The athletic supporters are called ¨The Lions ¨. The president of athletic is Josu Urrutia and the manager is Ernesto Valverde. The best goal scorer is called Telmo Zarra and he has scored 333 goals. The player with the most matches is Iribar, who had played for Athletic and for The Spanish National team.
