Don't you know Gossip Girl?

Gossip Girl is an american series that follows the life of priviledged teenagers who live in the Upper East Side in New York city.

This teen serie is called like that because it's narrated by an omniscient blogger called “ Gossip Girl ”. The funniest thing about that is that until the last episode we don't know who Gossip Girl is.

The characters, of which I will speak later, have the kind of live that any teenager would like to have. Life seems perfect for these teenagers , they have money, fame and glamour, but throughout the series you will notice that they are not so different from us.

The characters

• Blair Waldorf :

  

She is one of the main characters, interpreted by Leighton Meester. She is described as “the girl of extremes” . She is the queen bee of her school so she sometimes can be snobbish and very competitive, she hates losing. She tends to play dirty and organize evil plans to get what she wants. But at heart Blair is a very sensitive girl who has family problems and that's why she acts the way she does. She loves fashion because her mother is a very famous fashion designer and she is also very smart and she has excellent grades,

• Serena Van der Woodsen

• 

She is the main character in Gossip Girl and she is interpreted by Blake Lively. Serena is considered as an “it girl”. She can easily get what she wants because of her looks, energy and charisma. She doesn't have to make big efforts to get her objectives because she is pretty and very nice with everybody. Her best friend is Blair, who has always felt jelous of her. Her family has lots of problems too but she is very close to her brother. She is not particularly academically skilled, but she is often told that she is not meeting her full potential.

Chuck Bass

Chuck is interpreted by Ed Westwick. He is a very particular character and I would say that he has very similar attitudes to Blair. As Blair, he loves winning and playing dirty. At the begining of the series , Chuck was the typical womanizer but then he realises that his only love is Blair, with whom he has a very important love story. Chuck has no family, he has never known his mother and his father doesn't care about him. This is very hard for him because he is always trying to amend with his father but uselessly because his father always fails him and Chuck is time after time disappointed.

Chuck thinks that because of his money he can have what he wants and he always feels superior.

• Nate Archibald

• He is interpreted by Chace Crawford. He is Chuck's best friend and at the beginning he has a relationship with Blair , then with Serena and then with a lot of girls but he'll never find the good one. On the surface, Nate seems to be the perfect "Golden Boy" of the Upper East Side but unlike the others his father has debt payment what creates him big problems. Nate is very lost and he never knows what he wants but he is a very good friend who is always there for his friends.

Dan Humphrey

He is interpreted by Penn Badgley. He is definitely the most different character in the serie. Dan is not wealthy as the others , he goes to a private school trough his scholarships. Dan is smart, witty, patient, works hard for what he wants and usually reaches his goals. He secretly has a desire to be on the "inside" of social cliches, but does not reveal it to anyone.

To sum up, I really recomend you to watch this series , if you haven't watched it yet. You will be hooked because it's a very interesting series which is worth watching.
